Why can’t I see any registrations from my referral when users click on my referral link?
There are a few reasons why a referral registration might not appear in your account, even if the user clicked on your referral link. Here are the most common scenarios:
User Didn’t Register Immediately: If the referred user clicks your referral link but doesn’t register right away, and later revisits the site directly (without using your referral link), the registration might not be tracked. For proper tracking, it’s important that the user registers during the same session they click your referral link.
URL Redirection: In some cases, when users click on your referral link, the URL might change due to redirection. For instance, if your link looks like https://ad-maven.com/publishers?rpid_xxx but the user is redirected to a different page, like the forum, this could break the referral tracking. Make sure the user is navigating to the correct registration page:
https://ad-maven.com/publisher-sign-up?rpid_xxx. Always double-check that the user is landing on the correct signup page.
HTTP vs. HTTPS Redirection: If a user clicks a referral link that starts with http:// and it automatically redirects to https://, the referral information might not carry over. Be sure to use the secure https:// version of the referral link to avoid issues.
Clearing Cookies or Using Incognito Mode: Referral programs often use cookies to track user activity. If the referred user clears their cookies, uses incognito/private browsing mode, or switches devices before completing the registration, the system may lose track of the referral.
Ad-blockers and Privacy Extensions: Some ad-blockers or privacy extensions can prevent referral tracking from functioning properly. If the user has these tools enabled, the referral link may not be tracked when they register.
